NGN Elevates AICS 2023 with “Cyber Resilience” Awareness Majlis

NGN, a leading Bahraini IT Systems Integrations and Managed Cyber Security Company organized an awareness seminar titled “Building Cyber Resilience: Strategies and Best Practices for a Secure Future.”

This seminar stands as part of NGN Majlis’ unwavering commitment to fostering awareness about cybersecurity. The event unfolded in conjunction with NGN’s active engagement in the second edition of The Arab International Cybersecurity Summit (AICS) 2023, held under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The summit unfolded at the Exhibition World Bahrain, spanning two consequential days on December 5 and 6.

The seminar featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including Mr. Yaqoob Alawadhi, the CEO of NGN Group, Mr. Anas Al Shunnag, the Regional Manager of Sales Engineering at Forcepoint; Mr. Georgy Ovanesyan, CEO at Axidian; Mr. Yahya Kassab, Senior Director and General Manager for KSA & Gulf at Commvault; Mr. Ziad Kesrouani, Territory Sales Manager at Dynatrace; Mr. Maitham Al Lawati, CEO of PowerDMARC; and Muaz Hawari, the Regional Channel Manager for the Middle East at Splunk.

Speakers delved into the imperative of establishing cyber resilience amidst rapid technological advancements and a surge in digital security threats. Discussions encompassed fundamental cyber resilience concepts, highlighting key strategies and policies essential for companies to enhance their capacity to adapt, endure, and respond effectively and promptly to cyber challenges. The event also featured presentations on innovative solutions and products offered by various companies in the field of secure digital transformation, which encompassed initiatives combating cyber-attacks and addressing the latest trends in hacking. The goal is to provide institutions with highly advanced digital security systems capable of countering diverse forms of cyber-attacks and phishing. Such efforts contribute to the development of a comprehensive foundation for cyber resilience, benefiting governments, institutions, and companies both regionally and globally.

Mr. Yaqoob Al Awadhi, CEO of NGN, said:

In the face of cyber threats attempting to disrupt business operations, he highlighted the imperative for robust measures to safeguard digital activities.

“With the rapid advancement of technology and global interconnectivity in the context of the Industry 4.0 and the prevailing trend towards comprehensive digital transformation, the world is witnessing a continuous surge in diverse cyber threats, encompassing cybercrimes, terrorism, cyber espionage, and cyber warfare.”

Mr.  Al-Awadhi underscored the significance of adopting pertinent strategies to bolster information security within companies and institutions. This involves establishing a comprehensive cyber resilience framework, commencing with thorough risk assessment and analysis. The process extends to integrating cybersecurity and protection systems, continually enhancing defensive capabilities. He further explained that protective measures include offering appropriate training for human personnel, implementing encryption, controlling data access, conducting regular backups, and ensuring the continuous updating of software. This holistic approach is crucial to fortify organizations against the multifaceted challenges posed by contemporary cyber threats.
