Bahrain Polytechnic organizes the “First Infection Prevention and Control Forum” in May

The Allied Health Directorate at Bahrain Polytechnic is planning to organize the First Infection Prevention and Control Forum on May 6, 2024, in conjunction with World Hand Hygiene Day (WHHD). The forum aims to “highlight the importance of enhancing knowledge of healthcare workers, and building their capacity in this field, through innovative and impactful training and education in the field of infection prevention and control.” The forum will host a group of specialized speakers in the field of infection control, and those interested in participating can register through the following link: https://www.polytechnic.bh/quick-links/.

On this occasion, Dr. Emma Janahi, the Director of Allied Health at Bahrain Polytechnic, explained that the forum will provide a valuable opportunity to showcase Bahrain Polytechnic’s initiatives aimed at investing in healthcare workers and building their capacity in the field of infection prevention. This includes increasing their awareness of modern hand hygiene practices, infection prevention, and control standards, as well as improving management and reducing hospital-acquired infections.

“The forum will enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences related to infection prevention and control, raise public awareness about the importance of hand hygiene in preventing the spread of infections, explore innovative ways of infection prevention, and develop the skills of professionals in this field. This aligns with Bahrain Polytechnic’s strategic goals as a higher education institution that offers healthcare support programs required by the labor market, in addition to providing a platform for enhancing partnerships with stakeholders” added Dr. Emma Janahi.
