Bahrain Polytechnic announced the opening of the admission period for its Masters and Top Up Programmes. Prospective students can apply for these programmes online at the Polytechnic’s website from 20th March to 15th May, with the batch scheduled to commence in September 2024.
The Top Up Programme offered by Bahrain Polytechnic is designed to provide a pathway for diploma holders and associate degree holders to obtain a bachelor’s degree within approximately two years. This program offers a range of disciplines, including Civil Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Human Resource Management, Accounting, ICT Programming, ICT Networking, ICT Information Systems, and Visual Design. Classes for the Top Up Programme are scheduled during evening hours and weekends, allowing working professionals to balance their job and academic commitments.
Dr. Louise O Nolan, Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs and Registrar at Bahrain Polytechnic, emphasized the significance of the Top-Up Programme, stating, “This unique offering, which caters to diploma holders, is the first of its kind in the region and aligns with our commitment to lifelong learning and ‘a polytechnic for all’. Moreover, the cost of the Top Up Programme is considered highly encouraging compared to the expenses associated with comprehensive study for four years or more.”
It is important to note that the Top Up Programmes are all accredited under the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In addition to the Top Up Programme, Bahrain Polytechnic also offers a range of Master’s Programmes. These programs provide specialized knowledge and skills in key areas of study. The Masters in International Trade and Strategy, Masters in Science in Artificial Intelligence, and Masters in Science in Engineering (Applied) in Sustainable Energy Systems are designed to enhance the capabilities of bachelor’s degree holders and equip them with the tools needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving labor market.
Dr. Louise O Nolan further highlighted the importance of the Master’s Programmes, stating, “Since its launch in July 2023, our Masters Programmes have played a vital role in honing the skills of bachelor holders and preparing them for the demands of the dynamic job market. These programs are in alignment with Bahrain Polytechnic’s strategic plan to meet the needs and demands of the labor market, while contributing to Bahrain’s 2030 Vision of developing a highly skilled workforce and fostering a thriving economy.”
