AoU opens American Corner

The Arab Open University (AOU) in Bahrain held the opening ceremony for its American Corner, which aims to promote cultural exchange and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Johromi, the Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary General, and Steven Bondy, the United States Ambassador to Bahrain, were present.

Dr. Al Johromi praised the partnerships of higher education institutions in Bahrain to qualify young people to excel in the labour market and contribute to sustainable development.

The ambassador emphasised the cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and the AoU in enhancing cultural exchange and providing opportunities for Bahraini youth through the opening of the American Corner. 

Dr. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Zakri, the President of the AOU, thanked the HEC for supporting the university’s plans and programmes in Bahrain, noting the efforts to establish the American Corner by the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain.

Dr. Ghurmallah Alghamdi, the President of the AOU Bahrain, highlighted the American Corner’s focus on cultural exchange, employment skills, and entrepreneurship.
