9 government-owned land plots offered for investors

Mariam Adnan Al Ansari, Assistant Undersecretary for Projects at the Prime Minister’s Office, Government Lands Investment Committee Chair, has highlighted the role of the Government Land Investment Platform in continuing to provide more opportunities for investors, to contribute development of vital sectors and achieve economic growth.

The platform is in line with the goals of the comprehensive development process, spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al Ansari said that the platform has launched nine new investment opportunities in four different regions in Bahrain which are Hamala, Buri, Al Buhair, and Salman City; noting that the move aims to ensure optimal investment in government lands available for investment in various vital sectors.

Al Ansari said that Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) has provided four agricultural investment land plots in Hamala, the first of an area of 49,717.9 square metres,  and the second of 14,396.7 sqm, in addition to two plots of 10,084.7 square metres each.

She added that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture has also offered a number of investment land plots in the agricultural and food security, including three plots in Buri, with areas of 11,916.8 sqm, 7,439.8 sqm, and 10,419.5 sqm, in addition to offering  a 22,361 sqm investment land in Al Buhair, for constructing a boulevard that includes cafes, restaurants and a walkway.

Al Ansari stressed the government’s keenness to support all initiatives that enhance food security, in line with HM the King’s directives to develop plans and projects that preserve the environment and contribute to achieving the goals of food and water security.

She said that the Eskan Bank had offered one investment land plot for the educational sector with an area of 2,694 sqm in Salman City to build a nursery.

Al Ansari said that bidding for the earmarked plots can be made via the “Available Lands” section in the website of the Government Land Investment Platform through link: https://investmentland.gov.bh.

She added that bidders can then select the investment property of their choice and click on the link on the page, which will transfer them to the Electronic Bidding System of the Tender Board to submit their applications.
