NBB Supports Annual Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Conference as Sponsor

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has recently taken part in the annual Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Conference supporting as a Sponsor. The event was held on 6th and 7th June 2023, at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, with the attendance of various representatives from NBB Bahrain’s Corporate & Institutional Investment Banking Team and the NBB UAE Team.

As a key networking hub and the most renowned corporate and investment banking event in the region, the conference featured over 70 expert speakers and over 1,000 of the region’s most senior borrowers, investors, bankers, policy makers and market practitioners.

NBB’s Director of Debt Capital Markets & Syndications, Vaibhav Kapoor, took part in a panel titled “Greening the Middle East’s syndicated loan markets: How are banks adapting their portfolios and approach to underwriting in-line with ESG principles?” The discussion focused on the shift in lending to clients in line with ESG policies, the measurement of carbon portfolios, and how banks can work with key clients to support commercial activities while hitting internal ESG targets.
