Within the field of information security, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a potent force for crafting robust cybersecurity strategies and policies, as asserted by Mr. Ammar Jameel, an expert in Information & Cyber Security, and Sustainability at BCFC.
Notably, Mr. Jameel underscored the transformative potential of AI in alleviating reliance on human analysis and intervention, citing its unparalleled ability to operate continuously and monitor networks for potential threats, 24/7.
This unwavering vigilance fosters a paradigm shift in cyber systems management, empowering organizations to proactively identify and mitigate security risks, leading to a heightened state of resilience against evolving threats in the digital landscape.
This was stated during Mr. Jameel’s participation as a key speaker in a seminar held by during a seminar organized by NGN, a leading Bahraini IT Systems Integrations and Managed Cyber Security Company, titled “Cybersecurity in the Era of AI,” as part of its awareness Majlis aimed at promoting knowledge about cybersecurity. The event was held at the company’s headquarters with the participation of an elite group of experts in information security, data and cybersecurity.
Mr. Ammar Jameel, drawing upon his expertise in Information & Cyber Security, affirmed the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI), and its ability to leverage its adaptive learning capabilities to enhance Cyber Security strategies and capabilities. This enhancement, he explained, could be achieved through the swift identification of online threats and the provision of automated expert assistance, including real-time alerts, and streamlined communication channels.
“I acknowledge the widespread concern about AI impacting jobs and livelihoods. However, I see AI as an opportunity rather than a threat. It opens new markets and opportunities. In addition, it offers new and improved ways of problem-solving, enhances human capabilities, and boosts productivity. In cybersecurity, AI enables faster and more effective detection and response to cyberattacks, a long-sought goal now within reach.” – Mr. Jameel said.
Regarding the transformative potential of AI, Mr. Jameel further elucidated its prowess in the field of continuous threat detection and mitigation. He emphasized the ability of AI-powered systems to swiftly scan and analyze massive volumes of streaming data. This capability surpasses human limitations, enabling the identification of anomalous behavior and potential attacks with exceptional speed and accuracy.
