Bahrain to host first round of Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Series

Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain will host the first round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup series in the Middle East from March 14 to 16.

This event, which is part of the Bahrain championship for local breed horses, will take place at the Military Sports Association’s field in Al Raffa. 

The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup, in its first edition, comprises 10 rounds across different continents. The event aims to promote Arabian horse breeding globally, showcase the UAE’s interest in Arabian horses, and uphold its esteemed position among organisations, breeders, and owners worldwide. 

His Highness Shaikh Nasser expressed pride in Bahrain hosting the first round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup in the Middle East. He emphasised that selecting Bahrain as the hosts of the inaugural Middle East round for this global championship underscores the Kingdom’s distinguished reputation as a leading hub for purebred Arabian horses, deeply rooted in its history.

His Highness highlighted the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to care for Arabian horses and support owners, reflecting the royal vision to preserve these horses, which are integral to the history of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council. 

HH Shaikh Nasser praised the UAE’s efforts to preserve Arabian horses, reflecting the region’s purebred heritage, stressing that they underscore its commitment to supporting Arabian horse preservation and its leading role in promoting these horses globally. 

His Highness commended His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), for his patronage and dedication to equestrian sports in the UAE. 

This support has solidified the UAE’s global standing in this field, emphasising its commitment to promoting Arabian horse preservation and its leading role in the sport, HH said. 

His Highness emphasised the importance of hosting the first round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Series as part of Bahrain championship for local breed horses, stressing that the event showcases the efforts of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), led His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in organising mega sporting events, reinforcing Bahrain’s status as a premier destination for Arabian horse championships. 

HH Shaikh Isa expressed appreciation for HH Shaikh Nasser’s patronage of the Bahrain championship for local breed horses and the first round of Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Series, reflecting HH Shaikh Nasser’s commitment to BREEF’s activities, which contributes to the development and success of equestrian sports on a broader scale. 

HH BREEF President praised the UAE’s significant role in promoting equestrian sports, lauding the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mansour for equestrian sports. This support has led to positive outcomes, enhancing the UAE’s strong presence on the international equestrian stage.

His Highness emphasised BREEF ‘s commitment to ensuring the success of the Bahraini and UAE horseracing events, wishing all participants success.

HH Shaikh Isa expressed appreciation for the supportive partners and sponsors, recognising their pivotal role in the tournament.
