Alba Contributes a Robotics Unit to NVTC’s Engineering Track

In a major step to boost the technical capabilities of the youth in Bahrain, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) has contributed a robotic unit for educational and training purposes to the engineering track at Nasser Vocational Training Center. This is to support the Center’s efforts in providing students with hands-on and practical applications in the field of robotic operations.

The robotic unit was handed over to the Center on 20 May 2024 in the presence of Alba’s CEO, Ali Al Baqali, and the CEO of Nasser Vocational Training Center, Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, along with a group of senior officials from both sides.

Commenting on this occasion, Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali stated:

“We are pleased to support NVTC’s journey in robotics by equipping students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in robot design, programming, and operation. This initiative reflects not only our commitment to serving the Bahraini community but also our dedication to This initiative reflects not only our commitment to serving the Bahraini community but also our dedication to cultivating a culture of training and sharing practical knowledge.”

Furthermore, NVTC CEO Dr. Abdulla Naser Al Noaimi added:

“We are proud to partner with Alba, one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world. This collaboration extends beyond regular contribution and encompasses various projects. Our Center’s R&D arm plays a key role by providing Alba with innovative smart technology solutions, when in turn, Alba demonstrates its commitment to the Center’s vision and mission. Their support empowers Bahraini youth by equipping them with industrial skills through practical training and curricula aligned with actual units used by Alba.”

The Robotic unit was used at Alba’s Casthouse 2 for the stacking of finished product bundles for more than a decade before being replaced by a higher generation unit. It will now be used for NVTC’s robotics programme and enhance students’ practical training and prepare them for successful careers in the rapidly evolving field of Robotics.
