World Diabetes Day event starts

Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, inaugurated an awareness event to mark World Diabetes Day, organised by the Royal Medical Services (RMS), in cooperation with the Bahrain Diabetes Society under the theme “Diabetes and Quality of Life.”

The event running on November 7-9, features leading doctors and specialists from across Bahrain who are providing educational resources and medical consultations on a range of diabetes-related topics, including paediatric diabetes, diabetic foot care, and endocrinology.

On this occasion, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation to the healthcare professionals, participants, and volunteers who participated in this event. He highlighted the role of organising institutions of the event which are RMS, Bahrain Diabetes Society, public and private hospitals, and health centres in raising awareness, providing high-quality care, and promoting preventive measures against diabetes. He affirmed that such initiatives are invaluable in educating the public, helping to prevent diabetes, and managing its complications effectively.
