Weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the second edition of the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2024, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, which serves as a vital platform to showcase Bahrain and the region’s investment opportunities to international stakeholders, enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a hub for regional and international investments.

The Cabinet commended the Bahrain Economic Development Board and other agencies for their efforts in coordinating the Forum, noting the high level of international participation and the opportunities it provides for potential investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.  The Cabinet also emphasised the Forum’s role in enhancing insights on responding to economic developments.

The Cabinet congratulated all Bahraini doctors and employees of the health sector on the occasion of the Bahraini Doctor’s Day, commending their contributions in developing medical services.

The Cabinet then expressed its condolences to the King, government, and people of the Kingdom of Spain following the storms, floods, and heavy rains that affected the southern and eastern regions, extending wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Government Executive Committee regarding a package of priority draft laws aimed at advancing development initiatives to benefit the Kingdom’s citizens.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on draft regulations (laws) in veterinary, agriculture, quarantine, seeds, seedlings, and food in the GCC.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on two MoUs, one between the Kingdom’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation, and the other with* the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus.

4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Mission Possible Partnership (MPP) to join the Industrial Transition Accelerator Programme (ITA).

5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to a proposal submitted by the Council of Representatives.

The Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:

1. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 16th BRICS Summit.

2. Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the ninth Union for the Mediterranean Regional Forum.

3. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation at the Bahrain Society in London’s 59th anniversary celebration.

4. Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the regional forum on “Accelerating Food Systems Transformation in the Arab Region”.

5. The most important outcomes of National Tree Week and the positive reception by authorities and citizens who support the National Action Plan to achieve the carbon neutrality, announced by His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness’ launch of National Tree Week, which will be held annually on the third week of October.

6. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Innovation Forum 2024.

7. Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the Arab Hospitals Federation’s Silver Jubilee celebration, during which Bahrain won two awards, the Minister of Health received the Distinguished Woman in Arab Healthcare Sector Award, and government hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain won the Gold Patient Safety Award.

8. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 34th meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the GCC.

9. Outcomes of the conclusion of the International School Games recently hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

10. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 53rd meeting of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee.
