Visit Bahrain Expands Reach with New Offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou for Chinese Tourists!

Visit Bahrain, a leading destination management company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has declared the inauguration of two representative offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou within the Republic of China.

This strategic move is aimed at attracting a substantial influx of tourists from the People’s Republic of China, recognized as the foremost market for travel and tourism exports. China has notably become the largest source of tourism market activity, both in terms of visitor expenditure and the sheer number of annual travelers.

Moreover, this expansion initiative seeks to fortify relationships with key stakeholders in the Chinese tourism market, encompassing representatives from the tourism, hospitality, and travel sectors. The objective is to deliver promotional services and bolster awareness of Bahrain’s enticing tourist destinations. Building upon the success of establishing representative offices across numerous European countries, the company is extending its reach eastward following the recent opening of an office in India.

In line with these developments, Visit Bahrain has appointed Mr. Ning-sun as the manager for its Shanghai office and Mr. Anthony Wang as the manager for its Guangzhou office.

On this occasion, Mr. Ali Amralla, CEO of Win Bahrain, said: “With China setting unprecedented records by annually exporting approximately 157 million tourists who collectively spend over $429 billion abroad, attention is increasingly shifting towards the Chinese market as a pivotal source to invigorate tourism in various countries. China not only stands as one of the largest origins of outbound tourists but also ranks among the world’s primary destination countries, attracting a staggering 141.2 million tourists from across the globe in a single year. This compelling dynamic underscore the imperative to prioritize China as a forefront target in our tourism strategies.”

“With the launch of direct flights between Bahrain and Shanghai/Guangzhou and a surge in Chinese investment projects, the Chinese tourism market holds great significance for Bahrain. Chinese tourist numbers have doubled, especially in business, holidays, conferences, and exhibitions. Notably, Bahrain experienced the highest per-trip spending from Chinese tourists, attracting around 2.2 million visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries this year. These tourists have contributed an estimated $3.48 billion to Bahrain’s travel and tourism sector.”

Mr. Amralla emphasized that the inauguration of the new offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou marks a robust beginning for “Visit Bahrain’s” expansion in China. The company aims to attract Chinese tourist groups by offering promotional deals, tailored travel packages, and organizing tours and excursions to cater to their specific preferences. This milestone signifies a strategic shift for the company as it actively explores and targets the growing and promising Chinese market, aligning with its expansion strategy to strengthen its presence in Bahrain and extend its reach into regional and international travel markets.
