Thwarting Financial Institution Cyber Attacks with Vulnerability Analysis: AUB Expert

Alaa Albahrani, the Senior Manager of Information & Cyber Security at Ahli United Bank, stressed the importance of analyzing security vulnerabilities and cyberattacks faced by financial institutions. This analysis plays a crucial role in mitigating potential cyber threats, enhancing security measures, and fortifying protection in the Fintech sector.

 By identifying errors and security gaps in the existing protection system, as well as recognizing unfamiliar patterns that may indicate potential cyberattacks, financial institutions can proactively address these risks. Furthermore, this analysis facilitates the development of innovative technologies for effective attack detection and ensures continuous adaptation to technical advancements in the field.

This was stated during his participation in the seminar titled “Cybersecurity in Fintech in Bahrain,” organized by NGN International, a leading IT Systems Integrations and Managed Cyber Security Company. The seminar was part of the activities of NGN Majlis, which aims to raise awareness about cybersecurity in the kingdom and promote a better understanding of the subject.

“Utilizing advanced digital infrastructure is of paramount importance in maintaining a secure cyberspace and mitigating the risks associated with cyberattacks. By doing so, the Fintech sector can achieve improved speed and efficiency in security procedures, elevate the quality of services offered to customers, facilitate the development of robust risk management systems, and effectively minimize the impact of cyberattacks on financial institutions’ operations.” According to Mr. Mr. Albahrani.

During his seminar speech, Mr. Albahrani covered several essential topics. He discussed strategies for effectively addressing security challenges in the Fintech sector, emphasizing the importance of enhancing security awareness among both employees and customers. He stressed the need for comprehensive training and awareness programs to minimize cybersecurity risks within the Fintech domain.
