Third annual National Initiative to support commercial sector launched

As part of Bahrain’s national holiday celebrations commemorating the establishment of modern Bahrain under Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783 and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has launched the third edition of the National Initiative to Encourage the Commercial Sector.

Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, highlighted the initiative’s goals, which include exempting promotional campaign fees for businesses and extending discount periods in local markets and commercial complexes across Bahrain. He noted the initiative’s significant contribution to boosting commercial activity and supporting the national economy.

Fakhro emphasised the ministry’s ongoing collaboration with the commercial sector to position Bahrain’s markets as competitive destinations for consumers. He commended the sector’s efforts in enhancing marketing campaigns and consumer protection, particularly during Bahrain’s holiday season, to attract citizens, expatriates, and tourists while improving the quality and appeal of local markets and commercial complexes.
