As part of the continuous effort to give back to the community, the Westin & Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain together with Marriott Business Council Bahrain recently visited the UCO Parents Care Centre located in Hidd to spread joy to the elderly.
Marriott Business Council Bahrain consists of the six Marriott properties in the Kingdom, namely The Westin & Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain, Ritz Carlton Bahrain, Marriott Executive Apartments, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Sheraton Bahrain Hotel.
The management and staff from the mentioned properties volunteered their time to visit the care centre last 21 August. Housekeeping associates assisted to clean and freshen up the centre and distribute fresh towels, while chefs led a cooking class to demonstrate how to prepare different dishes such as couscous, hummus, and different types of salads, which were served for lunch after. To amuse the elderly, the team also held a bingo game where fun prizes were given away. Lastly, massage therapists from Heavenly Spa by Westin offered hand massages to elderly men and women to help them relax after all the activities.
UCO Care Center was founded in 1995 and is located in Hidd. The Home was built to provide care and housing for the elderly who have no supporters or whose families are not able to take care of them. The offered service involves daycare, intermittent residence interchanged between the Home and family, or permanent residence at the Home according to its capacity.
