The Future Society for Youth has launched its new five-year strategy, spanning from 2024 to 2028, which is aligned with the advancements in youth and volunteer work in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This strategy embraces the latest governance standards in the field of civil work and aims to unleash the potential of the society’s volunteers and increase their contributions in various areas of volunteer and national work through the establishment of several quality teams.
The strategy includes a dedicated section for the “Smile” initiative, which is affiliated with the society and aims to support children with cancer and their families in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This entails enhancing the level and quality of healthcare, psychological, and social support services provided by the initiative to children with cancer. The strategy also focuses on providing a safe and sustainable environment that fosters their development and growth, while highlighting the prominent role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of children’s rights. In addition, it intensifies educational, awareness-raising, and health programs, along with a range of social and recreational activities targeted to this group. Furthermore, it emphasizes the development of volunteer and youth capacities and competencies.
On this occasion, Dr. Amal Al-Qallaf, a member of the Board of Directors of the Future Society for Youth and the Strategic Planning Lead, said, “The launch of this strategy comes after a series of strategic planning stages, which were supervised by the team over a period of two years. These stages included gathering the necessary information to analyze the society’s current standing, conducting surveys assess its performance, and actively seeking input from all stakeholders, including members, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and supporters. The process also involved examining innovative models in volunteer work and scientific research related to childhood cancer through fruitful partnerships and insightful visits. We also conducted a SWOT analysis to identify the society’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges facing the society. In parallel, a thorough restructuring of the society’s organizational and administrative structure was undertaken to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.”
Dr Al-Qallaf added, “In its new strategic plan, the society aims to achieve a holistic vision for the care and development of children with cancer. Additionally, it also seeks to launch new initiatives that foster a supportive environment for youth engagement in volunteer work. The “Smile” initiative has been a transformative milestone in the advanced and sustainable civil work in Bahrain since its establishment. It has successfully launched quality programs and built fruitful partnerships with various local and international entities, achieving progress and expansion year after year. We are committed to continuing these efforts to achieve a bright future for children battling cancer.”
