Student at the Arabian Gulf University Selected among “Bahraini Youth Ambassadors

Her Excellency Ms. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, has selected Ms. Zainab S. Shubbar Ahmed, a fourth-year student at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), to be included in the list of “Bahraini Youth Ambassadors” for the initiative’s second edition in 2024. This year, more than 100 youths of both genders were nominated to serve as ambassadors for Bahraini youth across various official and youth forums in the upcoming period.

The Minister of Youth Affairs emphasised that the “Bahraini Youth Ambassadors” will play a significant role in conveying a positive image of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its developmental progress across different fields. These ambassadors are envisioned as a reflection of a Kingdom that firmly believes in the potential of its youth as essential contributors to shaping the future, viewing them as a valuable asset and the real investment required to realise its vision, which is rooted in excellence and leadership at both regional and international levels. She further pointed out that the Kingdom continuously strives to empower the youth, enhance their capacities and channel their energy towards ongoing achievements, exploring new opportunities and building a bright future.

In this context, the Minister stated: “The youth participating in the first edition of the Bahraini Youth Ambassadors Programme successfully achieved the goals for which the programme was established, through their active involvement in youth forums and gatherings. They were able, thankfully, to convey the distinguished image of Bahraini youth, who cherish their Kingdom and consistently seek to advance and contribute to shaping and developing its future by engaging with their peers from various countries worldwide, exchanging successful experiences and expertise.”

She added: “We have great confidence in the youth taking part in the second edition of the Bahraini Youth Ambassadors initiative to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors from the first edition. They are expected to highlight the identity and essence of Bahraini youth in regional and international forums appropriately, enriching discussions and dialogues across various fields while enhancing the presence of the Kingdom’s youth and developing their skills.”

For her part, Ms. Zainab S. Shubbar expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent Bahraini youth within the “Bahraini Youth Ambassadors” initiative. She appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in creating an integrated programme that equips young ambassadors to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain effectively at various conferences and events, enabling them to achieve their aspirations and enhance their capabilities.

She said on this occasion: “This trust is a great honour for me, and I will work diligently to elevate the role of our creative youth and represent their dreams and aspirations. My focus will be on enhancing the role of youth in society, as I believe they are the force of change and the true wealth of the nation. I will strive to create platforms that encourage them to express their opinions and suggestions actively, allowing for effective participation in decision-making and offering opportunities and programmes that contribute to skill development. I pray for success in being the best ambassador for Bahraini youth, representing the beloved Kingdom of Bahrain and my university, the Arabian Gulf University, with distinction in international and regional forums.”
