Second Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2023) starts

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister,  General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, inaugurated the second Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2023).

The event represented a global platform to exchange expertise and reinforce cybersecurity cooperation and awareness to promote cyberspace security protection efforts.

The Interior Minister delivered the following speech:

“Bahrain hosts the Second Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition based on ith the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for shifting digital systems in providing services within an integrated plan that is implemented per international standards to reinforce cybersecurity.

I’m honoured to convey the greeting of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the patron of the conference, and HRH’s wishes for the event to achieve its goals.

The conference is a strategic step that reflects the commitment of the government of the Kingdom to reinforce digital sustainability and data protection in the modern technological era, protecting digital infrastructure and tackling e-security challenges and risks.

The policy of dealing with cyberattacks targets such attacks, while countries’ e-protection measures remain vulnerable to hacking at any time.

As you know, protection authorities automatically tackle daily cyberattacks in many countries. Still, many influential cyberattacks risk people’s lives and interests, especially when launched swiftly and suddenly in different parts of the world.

What makes the matter more dangerous is that a specific number of individuals often carry out these operations with the intention of sabotage, blackmail, or other reasons. Therefore, the science that created this influential electronic technology is sufficient to address it, especially since the situation, in general, needs a comprehensive solution through the presence of advanced international cyber intelligence, which can identify the sources of the threat immediately after it occurs. The perpetrators of these cyberattacks must not feel that they are far from punishment.

Honourable attendees, the world needs a stable cyberspace for the benefit of humanity in dealing with life challenges with ease and prosperity. Cybersecurity isn’t only a technical term but a vital part of any country’s national strategy that looks forward to a secure future.

Despite all technology’s benefits, it faces many challenges, and achieving cybersecurity remains the most important challenge. This is not the task of technical experts only, but rather the responsibility of everyone. Efforts must be combined, from government institutions and private companies to individuals, to protect digital information and data.

Finally, I am pleased to express my thanks to the speakers at the conference, the participants and the organisers. I hope the conference will provide the necessary tools and knowledge to enhance digital security, strengthen security capabilities to confront cyber threats and build a safer future in the Internet world. I wish everyone success.”

The two-day event reviews advanced cybersecurity solutions through discussion sessions and training workshops.

Cybersecurity experts and leaders from various countries provide discussion sessions, interactive workshops, and training sessions on the practical skills and knowledge necessary to effectively confront cyber challenges and work to improve the protection of data, networks, and digital infrastructure.

The conference aimed to enhance collective resilience against cyber threats and create a safer digital environment for individuals, companies and governments worldwide.

The accompanying exhibition attracts leading cybersecurity companies, startup companies and technology providers. It showcased the latest innovations and prominent cybersecurity trends.
