Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the first project of the newly developed vertical housing model in Salman City, marking a milestone in Bahrain’s social housing development.

The event was attended by Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB); and Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the continuous follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for social housing.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasised the importance of these efforts in driving developing housing services and accelerating the provision of suitable housing for citizens.

The Deputy Prime Minister commended the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for implementing this advanced project, noting its innovative design, optimal use of space, and focus on residents’ quality of life. The project includes modern facilities and integrated services to meet contemporary needs, making it a distinguished model in vertical housing.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah thanked the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development for funding the project, which cost BHD 132 million and is part of the Gulf Development Programme.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked Al Rumaihi and Team Bahrain from the ministry and the relevant government agencies for advancing housing projects that reflect the government’s commitment to current and future housing needs.

Al Romaihi expressed her appreciation to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their leadership and achievements in the housing sector.

She commended the efforts of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah for inaugurating the Salman City Housing Project and for his support in steering the ministry’s efforts through the ministerial committee for development and infrastructure projects.

The Salman City Housing Project provides 1,362 residential apartments, designed with modern standards and located on Island 12, offering coastal views. The designs were based on social studies and surveys conducted by the ministry to meet the specific needs of Bahraini families.

Following the allocation of apartments, further surveys will be conducted to ensure the project aligns with citizens’ expectations and to identify areas for future improvement.
