Public Administration Board of Directors meeting

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, chaired a virtual meeting of the Institute of Public Administration Board of Directors.

He emphasised the importance of developing administrative skills for employees in the public sector to enhance competence and improve institutional performance.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah added that the development efforts has contributed to the comprehensive development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister announced the launch of the institute’s annual plan for 2024, which focuses on developing national cadres in line with government programme goals and institutional work system requirements in the public and private sectors.

He added that the National Programme for Government Leadership Development, in its new form, aimed at developing the capabilities of civil service employees and fostering a culture of positive change and creativity in government work.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah commended the Institute of Public Administration’s achievements in 2023, confirming its position as a local professional institution that provides administrative training services.

Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, the Director General of the Institute for Public Administration, affirmed the institute’s readiness to launch a training package for this year, which includes 29 training programmes and 52 short courses.

The training package aims to beat last year’s number of beneficiaries that reached over 7,400 trainees from the public and private sectors and individuals.

The institute has implemented a new professional-level customer service programme, evaluated 12 government service centres, and started providing private sector training in leadership programs, customer service, and management courses.

It also partnered with government agencies and obtained International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accreditation over the Coach Programme.
