He commended HM the King’s continuous support, which enables the institution to strengthen independent human rights work and advance progress in this sector.
Al Derazi highlighted that, over the past 15 years, NIHR has enhanced cooperation with UN bodies and civil society organisations as strategic partners in promoting and protecting human rights.
This collaboration aims to improve national legislation in line with international standards, thereby creating tangible improvements in human rights conditions within the country, he added.
The NIHR chairman expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which strengthens NIHR’s ability to achieve meaningful progress through adopting best practices and updating human rights policies and legislation to meet global standards.
