The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced the conclusion of the second edition of its ‘EVOLVE’ summer internship programme. Over the course of the summer, the Bank welcomed students from schools and universities across Bahrain, providing them with a structured and diverse introduction to banking.
NBB partnered with a number of prominent institutions on the EVOLVE programme including; Royal Humanitarian Foundation, AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, INJAZ Bahrain, University of Bahrain (UOB), Bahrain Polytechnic, American University of Bahrain (AUB), Ahlia University, British University of Bahrain (BUB), Euro University, Ibn Khuldoon National School, the Bahrain Bayan School, St Christopher’s School and Al Hekma International School.
Commenting on the programme, Mohamed Matar, Head of Talent Development at NBB, said: “We are pleased to be continuously offering our emerging youth with growth and education opportunities to hone and nurture their talents. In 2023, we have trained almost 80 School and University students by offering them classroom and on-the-job training aimed at enhancing their knowledge and preparing them for future career opportunities. 60 NBB employees volunteered to make the programme a success evidencing in the Bank’s commitment to investing in its community and creating a generation of prosperous industry leaders.”
The latest edition of EVOLVE witnessed tremendous success as 79 students benefitted from on-the-job training and the opportunity to develop their professional skills. The students were awarded with certificates at a graduation ceremony, along with the training providers who were acknowledged for their contribution to the programme. NBB remains committed to supporting young Bahrainis who are considering a career in banking or finance, and aid the development of future industry professionals.
