Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, signed a contract with Ramez Mohammed bin Ajman Al Awadhi, Chairman of Ramez International Group, to establish a commercial complex in Isa Town.
The minister said that expanding the partnership with the private sector comes within the priorities of the government’s approach to raise the quality of services, reduce expenses, and ensure the implementation of projects to further support economic growth in Bahrain.
Al Mubarak affirmed the importance of involving the private sector in the process of investing in municipal property to serve citizens.
The total cost of the project is BD 2.4 million, he said, explaining that Ramez Group will invest in establishing and operating the complex.
The minister said that this will generate a revenue of BD 1,975,214 in usufruct fees for the ministry.
The project will be built on an area of 16,765 m2 and will include places designated for selling fresh vegetables, fruits, and all kinds of meat to serve as a consumer market and meet the daily needs of the residents of the area.
The project has taken traffic into consideration, and accordingly, a 500 car park space will be built to accommodate the visitors of the complex, he added.
