The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) to collaborate on agricultural research and training.
The MoU was signed by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of AGU.
Al Mubarak highlighted that the agreement aims to enhance the agricultural sector by introducing advanced technologies to support food security and sustainable natural resources. The partnership will also focus on educational programmes and training courses using modern agricultural techniques.
The minister said that both parties will work with relevant authorities to improve agricultural education, develop students’ skills, and create joint programmes aimed at agricultural development.
The MoU will also facilitate joint research and training programmes to maximise resource use and implement modern farming methods suited to Bahrain’s climate, he added.
On his part, Dr. Al Fuhaid commended Bahrain’s progress in agricultural development and expressed hope that this MoU would further enhance collaboration between the two entities, contributing to sustainable development goals.
The MoU reflects the commitment of both parties to scientific cooperation, addressing challenges, and enhancing agricultural development through joint initiatives and regular consultations.
