Preparations are underway for the third edition of the Muharraq Nights festival, set to commence in early December 2024. Organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in partnership with GFH Financial Group, the festival aligns with Celebrate Bahrain 2024 season.
This year’s events will span the full length of the Pearling Path, from the Bu Maher coast to the Pearling Museum – Siyadi Majlis. For the first time, all heritage houses along the route will open to the public, offering exhibitions and collections that narrate the history of Bahrain’s pearling economy.
The festival’s third edition features a diverse blend of creative and interactive activities, in collaboration with art galleries, public and private sector institutions, entrepreneurs, and community groups. Through art, design, crafts, children’s programmes, food, music, and tours, Muharraq Nights aims to provide an engaging experience at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the “Pearling Path: Testimony of an Island Economy.”
The festival seeks to highlight the Pearling Path’s cultural, social, and intangible heritage, reflecting Bahrain’s pearling legacy across an authentic coastal route, three oyster beds, and 16 historic buildings and public squares, stretching 3.5 kilometres in historic Muharraq.
BACA invites the public to follow updates on the festival, including event schedules and parking information, via www.pearlingpath.bh or social media at @CultureBah.
