One of the biggest talents in mixed martial arts in the Middle East, Bahrain’s own Mohammed Alsameea is finally making his professional debut following a lengthy and victorious amateur career.
On June 23, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, he will look to prove the hype is real when he takes on Ibrahim Hassan in the opening bout of BRAVE CF 72. His reputation has been growing in the last years, as the youngster has left a trail of destruction and has truly put himself in contention to become the next Hamza Kooheji, or even reach greater heights.
Hamza Kooheji himself, as leader of the Bahraini fighters and a superstar himself, has been instrumental in the rise of young Alsameea as a coach, a mentor, and a friend. That has meant ‘’Zuhair’’ has had a brilliant example to follow and will look to capitalize on that as he makes the jump from amateur to professional.
Before leaving for the pro scene, however, Alsameea will be encouraged to know he has made Bahrain proud with his achievements in the amateur ranks. He has become the only Arab to reach a world championship final, winning the silver medal in the 2021 edition, while also winning bronze in two other occasions, in youth and adult championships.
Alsameea has also been involved with BRAVE CF in an amateur capacity before, being part of the historic BRAVE CF 57, which took place in 2022, at the sold-out Khalifa Sports City Arena. It was the first taste for Bahraini fans of their new superstar. A name that will certainly be famous very soon – in the Kingdom and beyond.
