The Ministry of Interior showcased advanced services and technologies at the seventh Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2024, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The ministry’s participation aimed to enhance safety and security, promote community partnership, and strengthen international collaboration.
The pavilion featured contributions from several directorates, including Police Aviation, Customs Affairs, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, and the Bahrain International Airport Police Directorate. Police Aviation displayed helicopters equipped for VIP transport and search and rescue missions, highlighting advanced technologies used in their operations. Customs Affairs presented its 2024–2027 strategy to facilitate trade and travel security, focusing on its vision for growth and economic prosperity.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Directorate introduced Bahrain’s new e-passport and related services, such as passport delivery and the Golden Residency Programme.
The Bahrain International Airport Police Directorate showcased advanced security technologies, including liquid and explosives detection devices, which enhance safety while expediting inspection processes.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence participated by raising awareness about safety measures and emergency responses. It also demonstrated modern rescue equipment designed to improve emergency preparedness and community safety. The General Directorate of Traffic highlighted road safety initiatives, showcasing smart traffic monitoring systems and holding interactive workshops to promote traffic law awareness.
The Media and Security Culture Directorate, represented by Watani Magazine, engaged children and families with educational content aimed at fostering national values and increasing awareness. The magazine’s pavilion attracted visitors of all ages, reflecting its role in inspiring future generations.
Visitors commended the ministry’s pavilion for its innovative technologies, efficient organisation, and welcoming approach. The display of Bahrain’s first police helicopter and the advanced e-passport garnered particular praise, reinforcing the Kingdom’s reputation as a regional leader in security, innovation, and public engagement.
