iGA releases November 2024 Foreign Trade report

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its November 2024 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports, and Re-exports.

As per the report, the value of non-oil imports has increased by 5%, reaching BD 478 million in November 2024 in comparison with BD 454 million for the same month in 2023. The top 10 countries for imports recorded 72% of the total value of imports.

According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD 73 million (15%), followed by Australia with BD 53 million (11%) and The United Arab Emirates with 38 million (8%).

Other Aluminum Oxide was recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD 50 million (10%), followed by Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates with BD 43 million (9%) and Parts for Aircraft Engines being the third with BD 19 million (4%).

On the other hand, the total value of non-oil exports (National Origin) increased by 7% to reach BD 319 million during November 2024, compared to BD 299 million for the same month in 2023.  The top 10 countries in exports (National Origin) accounted for 73% of the exports (National Origin) value.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD 66 million (21%).  The United States of America was second with BD 56 million (18%) and the Netherlands was third with BD 20 million (6%).

Unwrought Aluminum Alloys were recorded as the top products exported in November 2024 with BD 101 million (32%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD 30 million (9%) and Unwrought Aluminum not Alloyed with BD 24 million (8%).

The total value of non-oil Re-exports decreased by 11% to reach BD 66 million during November 2024, compared to BD74 million for the same month in 2023.  The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 83% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with BD 20 million (30%) followed by The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with BD 15 million (23%) and the United Kingdom with BD 5 million (8%).

As per the report, Turbo-Jets was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD 10 million (15%), followed by Four-wheel drive BD 8 million (12%), and Gold Ingots came third with BD 4 million (6%).

As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded BD 93 million dinars in November 2024 compared to a deficit of BD 81 million dinars in November 2023.
