Housing Ministry to prioritise action plan to preserve cultural and historical identity of Bahrain

Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said the royal speech at the opening of the second session of the sixth legislative term reflected the royal vision on adopting policies and national action plans that consolidate the progress of the comprehensive development process.

The minister said that in light of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s order to put in place a plan to preserve the cultural and historical identity of the buildings and cities of Bahrain, the ministry will work on implementing the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to initiate an action plan in this regard and to launch the Muharraq City Development Plan.

Al Rumaihi said the ministry has immediately worked on forming a specialised team to implement the directives and coordinate with other relevant agencies to ensure speedy delivery and high efficiency.

The minister affirmed that the joint action plan will be prioritised by the ministry in the coming period.
