The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced the digitalization of the service for authorising bank account inquiries, used to calculate the income of self-employed citizens and commercial registration holders before applying for housing services. This aims to reduce the required documents for calculating monthly income and determining housing eligibility.
Under the new system, citizens can visit the ministry’s online customer service platform and complete the necessary form, which authorises the ministry and Eskan Bank to inquire about bank accounts. This eliminates the need for citizens to gather documents from multiple sources, speeding up housing application processes.
The ministry emphasised that this measure aims to simplify procedures and allow citizens to complete their housing transactions without needing to visit the ministry in person. The improved service is the result of suggestions made by citizens through direct communication channels, including the national suggestions and complaints system (Tawasul), the ministry’s hotline 80008001, live chat, and other interactive platforms available through the customer service portal.
This online service aligns with the government’s 2023-2026 programme to gradually digitise services, incorporating proposals from citizens to improve service delivery.
