Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and “Delmon Gate” real estate company have concluded the contracts of an agreement to build 131 new housing units at Salman City.
The move is within the framework of the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry’s plan to implement projects included within the Government Land Development programme, in partnership with the private sector.
Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and Abdulla Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delmon Gate, signed the agreement, in the presence of Asim Abdullatif Abdulla, Undersecretary of the Ministry.
Minister Al Rumaihi indicated that under the agreement, Delmon Gate will build 131 residential units in Salman City with a total area 23,000 square metres, noting that the units will be 220 square metres at least.
After completing the construction of the units, the developer shall sell them to the citizens benefiting from the housing financing programme, provided that the unit prices do not exceed BD 98.000, she said, noting that the project site has all infrastructure services, which will contribute to expediting its implementation.
The minister said that the implementation of the 131-unit project in Salman City is the first in a series of other projects included in the master plan of the Government Land Development Programme, following the success of its pilot phase during which 132 housing units were built in the Suhail Housing Project.
The pilot project achieved great success, as 93% of its units were booked during the second edition of the Housing Finance Exhibition, she said.
Minister Al Rumaihi pointed out that under the Government Land Development Programme, a series of projects will be launched in housing cities and regions across the kingdom’s governorates, revealing that the Housing Ministry is finalising procedures to implement another project in Khalifa Town.
The Housing and Urban Planning Ministry is also preparing to launch other housing projects included within a plan to implement the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to launch eight additional projects in partnership with the private sector in 2023 and 2024, she added.
She affirmed that the projects launched under the Government Land Development Programme are implemented according to the standards and requirements that guarantee the provision of quality residential units in terms of construction specifications, and the use of modern building design models.
Delmon Gate Board of Directors Chairman said that the agreement is the first to be signed between the company and the Housing Ministry to develop the projects implemented under the Government Land Development Programme, praising the goals of the programme which reflects the advanced level of the partnership between the Ministry and the private sector to provide housing units to the citizens.
Abdulla Ali said the company will implement the Salman City project according to the best quality standards, making it the second successful experience achieved after that of the “Suhail Housing” project, stressing that such programmes and housing initiatives contribute to the rapid provision of adequate housing to the citizens.
