Housing Minister announces schedule to distribute units

Following the directives of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the distribution of 6,800 housing services to citizens, the Housing Minister has announced that a schedule has been set to distribute ready housing units from December 16 until February.

Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi said financing applications will also be processed until the end of 2024.

The distribution plan will include the units in the first phase of East Sitra City, in addition to a new batch of units in Salman City and East Hidd, the minister said.

She said the ministry will begin to call citizens benefiting from those units to provide them with appointment dates, starting on December 16, at premises of the ministry to complete the procedures of receiving their housing units.

The minister said that the ministry has allocated budgets for financing services in 2024, which will cover more than 5,000 applications.

Citizens can apply directly through the website of the ministry.

Minister Al Rumaihi valued the order of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which coincides with Bahrain’s National Day celebrations, noting that the directives of His Majesty the King and the government have given priority to social housing programmes.

The minister said that the order on distributing housing units offers immediate housing solutions and a variety of options and services for beneficiaries.

She said that distributing units in the first phase of the East Sitra City ushers the beginning of this new city. She added that the units in Salman City and East Hidd indicate the progress of development in those cities.

The minister congratulated the new beneficiaries, assuring that the ministry will work on the timely implementation of His Royal Highness’s order.
