HM King addresses nation at National Day celebration; honours national action pioneers

Under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, a ceremony was held at the Al-Sakhir Palace on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its national days, the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne, and the accompanying national events.

On arrival at the Al-Sakhir Palace, the artillery fired 21 rounds to salute HM the King, who was accompanied by a constellation of cavalry.

The National Anthem was played, and some holy Quran verses were recited.

After that, HM King Hamad delivered the following keynote speech:

“In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful,

Praise be to Allah, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (PBUH), and upon all his family and companions.

Your Highnesses, and Excellencies,

Distinguished Audience,

May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you,

We extend a heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you, and extend our congratulations on the occasion of our National Day. As we celebrate, we pray to Allah the Almighty to bring our united Bahraini family continued prosperity and harmony, ensuring that our nation’s journey progresses with each passing generation, as it continues to embody our hopes and aspirations for an even better and brighter future for our beloved Kingdom.

As we commemorate this momentous day in our nation’s history, we are filled with renewed joy and a deep sense of responsibility, and of confidence in the country’s continuous development, and of pride in Bahrain’s journey, which is committed to the stability and development of its institutions, and to consolidating its security and maintaining its stability, in order to preserve and uphold the highest interest of the country.

On this joyous occasion, we are pleased to express great pride in witnessing the nationwide enthusiasm and efforts to preserve Bahrain’s standing and its advanced capabilities – both cultural and human – within national progress that includes all who belong to this beloved nation.

Furthermore, we extend our pride and appreciation to the pioneers of National Action, whom we commend with deep thanks and gratitude for their sincere efforts and fruitful work. They have followed the path of our founding pioneers, the builders of this remarkable nation, whose glory and success began more than two centuries ago. Here today, we witness with you the outcome of what they sowed; so let us continue the journey with the same determination and steadfastness to achieve further growth and prosperity.

In conclusion, Bahrain and its people convey a resolute message on this momentous day. We affirm that the brotherly Palestinian people, like all other people, deserve their full rights for the establishment of their independent and fully sovereign State, with Jerusalem as its capital. It is imperative that the international community begins taking steps towards the achievement of this noble goal.

We pray to Allah the Almighty to continue granting prosperity to Bahrain, its people, and future generations, who represent our hope for the future, and may Bahrain continue to be, as it always has been, a prosperous homeland for all, citizens and residents.

May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.”
