Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, met with the heads of private universities in Bahrain, where he announced a new partnership between the Higher Education Council and Times Higher Education (THE) to develop a comprehensive strategy for higher education and research in Bahrain.
The minister said the strategy will focus on improving performance, enhancing regional and international competitiveness, and fostering growth in the higher education sector.
Dr. Juma emphasised the importance of international partnerships with leading organisations focused on enhancing the performance of higher education institutions. He commended the development of universities in Bahrain, highlighting their growth in offering quality academic programmes and adherence to higher education regulations.
The minister provided a detailed overview of the strategy being developed with Times Higher Education. He highlighted the importance of the project’s outcomes in supporting the sector and providing a solid foundation for further development.
Dr. Juma also outlined the project’s execution plan, which runs from January to July, and noted that both public and private sector institutions would be key partners in delivering this initiative.
