Grand Seiko Official Watch for the 2024/2025 horseracing season

As part of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club’s (REHC) efforts to enhance partnerships with various companies and institutions, REHC signed a sponsorship agreement with Grand Seiko – Bahrain Jewellery Centre, designating the Japanese watch brand Grand Seiko as the “Official Watch” for the 2024-2025 horseracing season. This agreement aligns with Bahrain’s developmental steps as a host of numerous international horse races and championships.

The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of Yusuf Osama Buheji, CEO of REHC, and Ahmed Shirazi, Managing Director of Bahrain Jewellery Centre. The agreement coincides with the launch of cooperation and participation of Japanese horses in Bahraini horse races, beginning with the Bahrain International Trophy on 15 November.

Buheji welcomed the partnership with the Japanese brand Grand Seiko, one of the most prominent names in the watch industry, as part of the Club’s commitment to establishing new and diverse partnerships that contribute to the development of horseracing in Bahrain and enhance its international standing.

Buheji highlighted REHC’s aim to create an attractive environment in its races to host horses from around the world, including Japanese horses set to compete in the Bahrain International Trophy, marking their first participation in Bahraini races. He added that significant media and public interest is anticipated due to Japan’s advanced standing in the field of horseracing.

The Club’s CEO emphasised the importance of this partnership and its role in reinforcing REHC’s position as a preferred destination to attract more international participation and leading companies and brands, contributing to raising the standard of Bahraini races and enhancing their prominence on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Shirazi underscored Bahrain Jewellery Centre’s commitment to supporting Bahraini horse races, which are witnessing remarkable development and global recognition due to the efforts of REHC’s High Committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Shirazi added that the Club’s achievements and the exceptional facilities it offers were an incentive for Grand Seiko – Bahrain Jewellery Centre to continue its support by sponsoring seasonal races and international championships, elevating Bahrain’s standing in the world of horseracing.
