Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Foreign Affairs Minister, today participated in the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Japan (GCC-Japan Ministerial Meeting).
The meeting was co-chaired by Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Oman’s Foreign Affairs Minister and chairman of the GCC Ministerial Council’s current session, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister.
GCC countries’ foreign ministers and Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, GCC Secretary-General, took part in the joint meeting.
GCC foreign ministers and their Japanese counterpart discussed ways to enhance GCC-Japan cooperation across various fields of common interest.
They also endorsed the 2024-2028 joint action plan, aimed at enhancing bilateral economic partnership and trade exchange, as well as developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, education, health, environment and renewable energy.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments, including the situation in Asia and the Middle East, in addition to regional security.
