Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, today inaugurated the Diplomatic Forum 2024, coinciding with the Diplomatic Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of heads of diplomatic and consular missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad, and senior officials at the ministry.
In his remarks, the Foreign Minister welcomed the attendees, expressing his pride in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s designation of January 14 as an annual occasion to celebrate the Bahraini diplomacy and its outstanding contributions.
The Foreign Minister expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his constant support, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his tireless follow-up on the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its staff.
Dr. Al Zayani praised the sincere and tireless efforts undertaken by all heads of missions abroad, as well as officials and employees of the Ministry, in serving the country and shouldering their responsibilities in difficult times, dealing with various challenges in the best possible ways, and the constant communication between ambassadors and citizens abroad, towards raising the status of the Kingdom of Bahrain in all political, consular and development fields.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has an important objective this year in preparing the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the Arab Summit, in addition to its candidacy for a non-permanent membership of the Security Council for the period 2026-2027, as well as the training of diplomats and ensuring their readiness for these important events.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that this meeting is an important opportunity to exchange views and ideas on various regional and international issues, as well as to discuss the best consular, administrative and security practices.
The forum is also a platform to comprehensively review the achievements, challenges and strategies adopted by the Ministry, and to take all views that contribute to improving and developing the work of the Ministry, he said.
Dr. Al Zayani also praised the distinguished achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s missions abroad, in addition to those of various sectors and departments at the Ministry, voicing pride in such accomplishments, and expressing hope that they will continue working as a team within the Ministry’s staff.
He stressed the importance of continuing to build on the constructive work to raise the name of the country and serve its interests.
