Chtaura Company, a leading importer, distributor and wholesaler of food and beverage in Bahrain is pleased to sponsor the 9th Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World organized in Bahrain by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). A special event will be hosted at Chtaura’s Moda Mall venue on Thursday, 14th November at 5.30 PM to mark the launch of the Week.
The 9th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, running from 16th to 22nd November, 2024, celebrates the theme “Mediterranean Diet and Culinary Roots: Health and Tradition.” This year’s event highlights Italian cuisine’s rich heritage and the Mediterranean diet’s role in promoting health and supporting a balanced, sustainable lifestyle. It also aligns with the “Roots Tourism” (in Italian: “Turismo delle Radici”) program, showcasing how Italian communities worldwide have enriched Italy’s food heritage.
The initiative welcomes Italian food and culture enthusiasts, along with Italian language students, to experience an authentic showcase of Italy’s culinary heritage. Attendees can explore Chtaura’s curated selection of premium Italian goods, in the presence of H. E. Andrea Catalano the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain and Chtaura representatives. The event also features an interactive pizza-making demonstration, complemented by Italian nibbles for guests to enjoy.
“We are immensely proud to sponsor and celebrate this event which not only highlights Italy’s rich culinary legacy but also aligns with our unwavering commitment to quality and cultural exchange,” said Fawaz Almaz, Founder and CEO of Chtaura Company. “This initiative allows us to bring the essence of Italian heritage closer to the Bahraini community, reflecting our dedication to providing products that embody tradition, craftsmanship, and the finest standards.”
The Ambassador of Italy, thanked Mr. Fawaz Almaz, Founder and CEO of Chtaura Company, and his dedicated team and stated that: “Authentic Italian ingredients are made available to the discerning Bahraini food lovers thanks to importers such as Chtaura, who are fully aware of problem of the “Italian sounding”, a phenomenon unfortunately quite common abroad involving the sale of non-authentic food products with Italian names, images, and branding to mislead the undiscerning consumers. In Italy – Ambassador Catalano has concluded – cooking is a way of taking care of family and friends (when you do it at home) or customers (when you do it at a restaurant). It is a mosaic of many local skills, an expression of creativity and knowledge that becomes tradition through generations. It is also a form of protection of biodiversity, based on not wasting anything, on the reuse of leftover food and on seasonal products from various territories. Italian Cuisine is part of our history and it is a heritage for 60 million Italians who live in Italy, for 80 million Italians and their descendants who live abroad and for many foreigners who love and are inspired by the Italian lifestyle. That is also for this reason that the Italian Cuisine has been nominated for inclusion in UNESCO’s “Intangible Heritage of Humanity” list.”
Founded in 1994, Chtaura Company has committed decades to collaborating with Italy’s most esteemed food producers, cultivating relationships that share a dedication to tradition, quality and cultural appreciation. Their role in this year’s event is a natural extension of this legacy, offering Bahrain’s community an authentic taste of Italy that honours the Mediterranean diet. Through this sponsorship, Chtaura continues its mission of bridging cultures and inspiring Bahraini tables with products that represent Italy’s rich gastronomic tradition.
