The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) participated in the International Tourism Berlin Exhibition (ITB Berlin).
The exhibition is considered one of the largest exhibitions specialised in the tourism and travel sector in the world, bringing together a group of decision-makers and experts in the tourism industry, as well as, hospitality companies, tour operators and investors from various countries.
BTEA is participating in Bahrain’s pavilion, which includes 14 national tourism and hospitality companies. The aim is to showcase Bahrain’s diverse tourism offerings and promote major events like the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. The participation also aims to strengthen cooperation with international tourism markets and attract more visitors by highlighting Bahrain’s modern infrastructure as a top destination for tourism and investment.
Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO for Projects and Resources at BTEA, emphasised that the Kingdom’s participation in this international exhibition comes within the framework of BTEA’s strategy to enhance Bahrain’s presence in global tourism markets, noting that Germany is one of the main target markets within the tourism strategy 2022-2026.
Al Saad highlighted that ITB Berlin is a key platform for sharing expertise, establishing strategic partnerships with global companies, and showcasing Bahrain’s tourism offerings, which cater to international travellers seeking diverse and enriching experiences.
She added that the exhibition is a chance to explore the latest travel and tourism trends, especially with the industry’s fast digital transformation. She noted that Bahrain aims to adopt global best practices to enhance its tourism appeal. She also highlighted BTEA’s commitment to using this event to highlight investment opportunities in Bahrain’s tourism sector and support efforts to diversify income sources and boost tourism’s role in the national economy.
The International Tourism Berlin (ITB Berlin) Exhibition is a global platform that allows knowledge about the latest innovations and trends in the tourism sector, focusing in its current edition on employing AI technologies to enhance the passenger experience, and includes several panel discussions and workshops that bring together a group of speakers and experts to discuss the most prominent practices and future trends in the tourism industry.
