Bahrain’s national volleyball team achieved a historic win by claiming the 23rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship title, defeating Qatar in the final with a score of three sets to one (25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16), securing the Arab title for the third time in its history.
Bahrain opened the match strongly, with standout performances from Naser Anan, Mohammed Yaqoob, and Ali Ibrahim, who significantly contributed through powerful attacks and serves.
Despite Qatar’s attempts to close the gap, Bahrain’s strong defensive play, led by Abbas Abdullah, secured the first set with a 25-17 score.
The second set saw Bahrain maintain its dominance, with defensive efforts by Mohammed Yaqoob and Hussain Mansoor, and a direct serve by Hani Ali. Ali Ibrahim and Naser Anan excelled at blocking, giving Bahrain a 25-18 lead.
Qatar rallied in the third set, led by Yousif Aghlaf and Nikola, capitalising on a few errors by Bahrain’s players to win the set 25-21.
In the fourth set, Bahrain regained control with strong offensive and defensive play, with Mohammed Yaqoob and Ali Ibrahim leading the attack, supported by team captain Naser Anan, sealing the match at 25-16 and earning Bahrain its third Arab title.
