Bahrain Polytechnic to Organize First Apprenticeship Programme Conference

As part of its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at developing education and training, including advancing technical and vocational training, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Tamkeen, and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Bahrain Polytechnic is organizing the first Apprenticeship Program Conference that introduces its series of apprenticeship programs which will be launched in five disciplines needed in the labor market: automotive, welding, electricity, plumbing, as well as refrigeration and air conditioning.

Bahrain Polytechnic has extended an invitation to various public and private entities and institutions to join the two introductory sessions accompanying the conference, which will be held on Sunday, 3 December 2023, at the Al-Majlis hall in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters in Manama. This will allow companies and entities to learn more about the various programmes and specialties offered to enhance the participants’ technical skills by obtaining an internationally accredited diploma while providing flexible pathways for further education.

In this regard, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic, emphasized that the Polytechnic aims to introduce advanced apprenticeship programmes in various crafts and professions, as well as specialized training programmes that support the training needs of the labor market, elevate professional skills, and provide exemplary programs for national cadres, high school graduates, job seekers, and workers of different levels and ages. They will be provided with practical work experience by exposing them to real work environments, in addition to receiving salaries and job benefits with the support of Tamkeen.
