Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director-General of Civil Defence, led the Interior Ministry delegation participating in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) conference held in the US.
Bahrain Civil Defence signed a cooperation agreement with NFPA. This agreement came in line with the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, to improve the civil protection and safety system, as well as update the requirements and standards for public safety and fire prevention in Bahrain.
The director-general commended the Interior Minister’s support and interest in developing the civil defence system to achieve rapid response, handle reports professionally, preserve lives and property, and enhance public safety. The director-general also noted the Chief of Public Security’s follow-up to civil defence plans.
The director-general said the agreement aims to activate the safety and fire ecosystem, enhance training and expertise development in fire prevention, and explore using new technology to improve safety requirements in buildings and facilities.
He added that the agreement will facilitate joint action plans to advance safety standards in Bahrain from a global perspective, involve civil defence in research, expert qualification, and media awareness, and serve as a consultant for future projects and initiatives.
The conference included more than 350 exhibitors, more than 120 educational sessions, workshops, and a platform for communication with fire protection engineers, firefighters, safety equipment manufacturers, and government officials in the safety field.
