Bahrain and Hong Kong sign agreement

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Finance and National Economy Minister, received Algernon Yau, the Minister of Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong, and the accompanying delegation.

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce; Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the CEO of Mumtalakat Bahrain Holding Company; Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Mohammed Adnan Sheikhoo, the Bahraini Ambassador to China and serval officials were present.

Shaikh Salman highlighted the ongoing development and growth in the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Hong Kong across various domains, affirming the mutual keenness to enhance these relations and advance them to higher levels of cooperation and collaboration.

The meeting reviewed cooperation, particularly in the financial and economic sectors, and exchanged views on the latest global economic developments.

The two parties signed an agreement to promote and safeguard investments and a double tax avoidance agreement.

The agreement from the Bahraini side was signed by Shaikh Salman and Yau from the Hong Kong side.

Shaikh Salman highlighted the significance of the agreements in advancing economic, trade, and investment relations between Bahrain and Hong Kong, in addition to promoting cooperation, expanding opportunities, and opening new avenues for mutual collaboration to benefit both sides.
