Arabian Gulf University President Signs Contract with Mohammed Fakhroo and Brothers to Purchase Advanced X-Ray Devices

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has signed a purchase contract with Mr Ghassan Qassim Fakhroo, CEO of Mohammed Fakhroo and Brothers. The contract aims to import modern and precise diagnostic devices for regular and coloured X-rays, which will enhance the services offered by the University Medical Centre at the King Abdullah Medical City. These devices will benefit patients dealing with a range of medical conditions, including joint pain, gynaecological diseases, fractures, chest diseases, infections, and gastrointestinal disorders.

This collaboration reflects the commitment between AGU and Mohammed Fakhroo and Brothers to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities of the University Medical Centre. By incorporating the latest medical technology, the Centre will serve both local patients and visitors from the GCC countries, aligning with the strategic academic and health objectives of the University.

During the signing ceremony, Dr Al Fuhaid emphasised the University’s dedication to continuously enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic devices and services offered at the Medical Centre. He noted that the acquisition of these cutting-edge medical devices will significantly streamline the diagnostic journey and optimise treatment for patients. Furthermore, he highlighted that this next phase in the University Medical Centre’s evolution will mark a crucial advancement in providing sophisticated medical services by modernising equipment across various medical departments to meet international standards, adding that such efforts aim to maintain the high standard of care that has earned the centre a notable reputation over the years.

On his part, Mr Fakhroo stated : “Any agreement related to the supply of medical devices is an enhancement to patient healthcare. Commenting on the occasion, Dr Mai Ibrahim Mattar, Head of the Diagnostic Radiology Department at the University Medical Centre and a Musculoskeletal Radiology Consultant, emphasised the significance of collaboration with suppliers like Mohammed Fakhroo and Brothers in enhancing patient care.

She underscored that the modern diagnostic equipment will improve the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic services, allowing for accurate diagnoses of infections, fractures, gastrointestinal and joint diseases, chest conditions, and gynaecological disorders, adding that these devices are designed with safety in mind, particularly for children, as they reduce traditional radiation exposure and will also be used prior to bariatric surgeries and for post-operative patient monitoring.
