The international conference “Open Innovation and Digital Transformation”, organised by the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), will begin next Sunday in the presence of His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council.
The aim of the conference is to explore new horizons in the use of technology, innovation and digital transformation, which are considered among the most important tools of the modern era that promote progress and development in all scientific and practical fields. Furthermore, the event aims to encourage participation and cooperation among all relevant parties to create innovative solutions that add value to daily life and raise efficiency and productivity.
AGU signed a cooperation agreement with Gulf Conferences Company (GC) to organise the conference, which brings together an elite group of practitioners, academics, experts, innovators, and decision-makers from leadership in the governmental, private, and civil sectors to explore new horizons in the use of technology and innovation.
On the occasion, Prof. Soud Almahamid, Dean of Graduate Studies and Head of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, stated: “The innovation and technology scene in the GCC states and the Arab world has witnessed a remarkable development in the recent period, signalling a shift to new future horizons. The conference will be a hub for interaction with leading experts and exploration of advanced technologies, building important and effective business networks, and discussing the future of open innovation in the region.”
Explaining further, Prof. Almahamid said: “Linking innovation and digital transformation is crucial to economic and social development. This link enhances innovation through the use of modern technology and advanced technologies to develop new solutions and improve existing processes. Digital transformation accelerates and enhances the innovation process by providing the platform and necessary capabilities, reducing costs, and providing more time for innovation and development of new products and services.”
“Additionally, innovation supported by digital transformation can achieve significant social changes in areas such as health care, education, transportation, and energy, improving the quality of life for individuals and societies. Digital transformation also creates new job opportunities, develops a skilled workforce for future jobs, and enhances market competitiveness through improved products and services and increased efficiency. Finally, digital transformation provides sustainable solutions to environmental and economic challenges by developing clean energy sources and improving environmental sustainability,” he added.
The exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference provides companies with an opportunity to showcase their leading services and technologies, interact with participants, researchers, and decision-makers, and enhance visions while opening doors for cooperation and partnerships between all sectors to ensure continuity, growth, and competitiveness.
