To further solidify its commitment towards the support and the development of the Islamic banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and internationally, Al Baraka Group and its subsidiaries units Al Baraka Islamic Bank and Al Baraka Turk Participation Bank participated as Golden Sponsorship for the AAOIFI Annual Islamic Banking and Financial Annual Conference, 18th edition, which was held under the title: “Strategies for the Impending Economic Slowdown and a Post Oil World: Through Economic Diversification and Leveraging Islamic Finance” on 29 and 30 November 2023 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The annual conference brought together a distinguished host of Shari’ah scholars, policymakers, and decision-makers with panel discussions examining the role of Islamic finance and Islamic fintech in diversifying economic activity in the Muslim countries, challenges and opportunities resulting from Inflation and high benchmark rates, and the use of Islamic finance in the development of infrastructure for climate change mitigation. In addition, the challenges of Sukuk Shari’ah compliance and governance and Islamic finance accounting for hyperinflation will be discussed.
