Luma Al Salah, English Language Instructor at the College of Graduate Studies (CGS) at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), presented a workshop on “Effective Performative Language in Delivering Presentations” targeting distinguished university students. These students had their research projects selected as the best innovative projects in a voluntary initiative to support distinguished graduating students from the University of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic. The workshop was organised by the Cloud Innovation Centre, in cooperation with the Labor Fund “Tamkeen”.
The training workshop focused on enhancing effective and proficient English language skills, as well as effective presentation methods for innovative projects. The goal was to use correct English language free of common errors in presenting graduation project presentations. Additionally, the workshop aimed to refine and employ personal skills in the presentation process, with the aim of preparing newly graduated university students to face practical challenges and technology in public sectors.
Moreover, the training highlighted the strengths of distinguished students in presenting their projects to various public sectors and investment institutions in an interesting manner characterised by creativity and innovation. Final-year students from participating local universities presented innovative, high-quality projects with high linguistic skills. Their presentations showcased new concepts, techniques and methods in presenting pioneering graduation projects.
On the occasion, Prof. Al Salah said: “This experience with local university students was exceptional. They competed in presenting proficient language that reflects the brilliance of their scientific and practical level. It translates the spirit, talent, and educational and professional vision of universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
