The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has recently announced the opening of registration and application for admission to the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences (CMMS) for the academic year 2024-2025. Eligible applicants are citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including both males and females, who wish to pursue a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD), equivalent to a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in most Arab universities.
To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of one of the AGU’s member states, including the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, and State of Qatar. Alternatively, applicants can be citizens of Arab countries residing in the member states. The applicant must possess a high school diploma (scientific section) or its equivalent with a grade of no less than 95 percent or 3.75 out of 4.00.
The university asserted that applicants must complete the admission application form with all required data and documents. These include the high school certificate, equivalent certificate from the Ministry of Education for foreign school certificates, certificate of good conduct and behaviour from the school, medical form issued by the university and approved by a government hospital, four recent coloured photographs, and a copy of passport with CPR card or personal identity. Admission to the college requires passing the university’s English language tests, as well as a personal interview. Alternatively, applicants can provide proof of a TOFEL exam with a minimum score of 500, or an IELTS exam with a minimum score of 5.5, or their equivalent in other approved exams. Applications and documents must be submitted to the ministries of education or higher education in GCC countries. Students from Arab countries can submit their applications directly to AGU’s website on www.agu.edu.bh. Students who wish to study at their own expense can also submit their applications directly to AGU.
