2025–2026 parliamentary digital transformation plan launched

Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, launched the parliamentary digital transformation and AI projects plan for 2025–2026. The event was attended by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives; Dr. Yasser Saqr Al-Shirawi, Assistant Secretary General for Resources and Services; Jasim Mohammed Al Gannas, Director of the Information Technology Directorate; and Farooq Abdul Aziz, Head of the Information Systems and AI Applications Division.

The Speaker commended Al Buainain’s efforts to modernise the General Secretariat with advanced technologies and emphasised its talent and expertise.

The Speaker emphasised the importance of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in parliamentary work to enhance efficiency and achieve objectives. He noted that this aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The plan aims to advance parliamentary functions, including legislative, oversight, service, and informational activities, leveraging Bahrain’s robust digital infrastructure and leadership in digital transformation.

The strategic plan features four main objectives and 20 key projects, including eight AI initiatives and 30 electronic services such as the Nuwab platform, parliamentary adviser, digital legal advisor, Nuwab smartphone application, and audio summary platform (podcast).
