1,500 technical, vocational students train under “Takween” programme at 250 institutions this year

Ibrahim Ali Al Burshaid, Assistant Undersecretary for Education at the Ministry of Education, announced that 1,500 secondary technical and vocational students have joined the “Takween” field training programme this academic year. The programme involves 250 cooperating government and private companies and institutions.

He explained that the students, from various technical and vocational specialisations, have been divided into four groups. The first group began their intensive four-week practical training at the start of the school year, with ministry-appointed mentors overseeing their progress.

Al Burshaid noted that the “Takween” programme aims to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors, offering quality training opportunities that link academic education with labour market needs, equipping students with the skills and knowledge required for various career paths.
